Details
Crews were called to a car fire in a garage that had spread to a nearby house.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze using two hose reel jets and two main jets. Thermal imaging cameras were used to check for hotspots, and crews removed areas of burning straw to help prevent further fire spread.
A thorough search of the property was carried out, and all occupants were accounted for. Police attended the scene and closed the road overnight.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and firefighters remain in attendance.
UPDATE 14:00 | Firefighters continue to fight the fire externally using two main jets, and expected to remain on scene.
UPDATE 16:55 | Firefighters wearing specialist height safety equipment are using a hose reel jet from a cherry picker to damp down the fire from above. Crews remain at the scene tackling hotspots and bringing the incident under control.
