Firefighters remain at an incident on Liverpool Road West, following a significant fire at a large domestic property that started late yesterday evening and continued into the early hours of this morning.
On arrival, crews found the first floor fully engulfed by fire, with flames spreading into the roof space. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to tackle the blaze and carried out full searches of the property. All persons have been accounted for.
A road closure was put in place, and cordons have been established around the scene to ensure public safety.
Through the night, crews have been fighting the fire in sectors, surrounding the property using hose reel jets.
Firefighters remain at the scene this morning (Thursday, 22 October), monitoring hotspots and dampening them down. The High Reach Extended Turret (HRET) appliance is now being used to apply water from above.
A fire investigation will take place.
