The amount of time required to collate this information exceeded the reasonable time which the Service is required to expend on collating a request and as such we were unable to provide this within the usual time period required under Freedom of Information legislation.
However, as much of the information is compiled as part of the Service’s year end performance review, we have ensured additional analysis of this data to provide the specific breakdown of information you have requested. This involves an extensive review of data which cannot take place until approximately two weeks following the 31st March each year when we can be confident all data has been recorded and validated in our various systems.

Please find below some additional information relating to some of the questions.
Question 1 - Number of staff employed on the Wholetime (shift) Duty System.
The data provided is those employed as of 31st March ending each performance year, not an average of the annual period. It indicates the actual number of staff with a substantive post on the Wholetime duty system (regardless of whether actually working on system or not).
Question 2 - Number of staff actually assigned on the Wholetime (shift) Duty System.
The data provided is those employed as of 31st March ending each performance year, not an average of the annual period. Indicates actual number of staff working on Wholetime duty system. This includes staff who are permanently working on the WDS but are in a non-substantive post.
Question 6 - Number of Site-Specific Risk Inspections completed on the Wholetime (shift) Duty System.
We are not able to provide historical data for this due to the configuration of our recording system. Based on the number of high and low risk SSRI sites in each Wholetime station area we have estimated the likely number of SSRIs per annum, however this will have been subject to some fluctuation.
Question 9 - Total amount of time (in hours) appliances operating on this shift system were unavailable / off the run due to staffing on the Wholetime (shift) Duty System.
We are not able to provide historical data as it was not consistently recorded prior to the 2022/2023 financial year. From 1st April 2022 the service began recording this as a metric in our Performance and Overview Committee reports and therefore will be available moving forwards.
