We would like to receive data relating to maternity leave pay made by your fire and rescue service, the below questions cover the 52 week period (Ordinary Maternity Leave and Additional Maternity Leave):
What pay does a firefighter receive for the first 6 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
What pay does a firefighter receive for the next 12 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
What pay does a firefighter receive for the next 21 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
What pay does a firefighter receive during for the remaining 13 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
As of 01/07/23 the salary for a competent firefighter is £36,266, what pay would a firefighter receive for 12 months maternity leave? Please can you state a numerical figure with a corresponding breakdown.

What pay does a firefighter receive for the first 6 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
Dependent upon length of service full pay (where employee has 1 years continuous service at EWC). Otherwise SMP (with 26 weeks continuous service) - 6 weeks at 90% of average weekly earnings or SMP whichever is lower.
What pay does a firefighter receive for the next 12 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
If one year’s local gov service full pay or 12 weeks SMP
What pay does a firefighter receive for the next 21 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
Full pay / up to 45 weeks or SMP (33 weeks in total)
What pay does a firefighter receive during for the remaining 13 weeks (inclusive) of maternity leave?
Full pay up till 45 weeks (7 unpaid if taking full 52 weeks leave) or no pay if in receipt of SMP.

Full pay 45 weeks - £31,263.44 (if meet eligibility) if not SMP @90% of salary (comp or dev’t pay + 33 SMP rate of pay) or Maternity Allowance (same as SMP).
