Details
Firefighters were called to reports of a bin fire in Chester. On arrival, crews found a large bin well alight and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots, which indicated heat transfer to a nearby door of a commercial building. Firefighters gained access to the building, and, wearing breathing apparatus, used a hose reel jet to extinguish flammable materials on fire within the premises. The property was further inspected with a thermal imaging camera to ensure no remaining hotspots, and a high‑pressure fan was used to ventilate the affected areas. Police also attended, as the fire is believed to have been started deliberately. If you have any information about deliberate fires, please report it. You can contact the Police online or by calling 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
