Firefighters were called to a report of a fire involving a construction vehicle at a site on Halebank Road, Widnes.
On arrival, they found an excavator which was well alight. Crews used a breathing apparatus and hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, before checking the vehicle over with a thermal imaging camera.
