Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus gained entry to a flat after smoke was seen coming from the doorway of the property.
Crews found a fire in the kitchen, which is believed to have started accidentally after combustible items were left on the hob.
A high pressure-fan was used to help clear the smoke and the fire was extinguished with water.
The occupant was not home at the time of the incident and no injuries have been reported.
