Question Asked:

I would like the organisation to review my freedom of information request below, that’s focused around contract data for services around facilities management specifically around the services below: 

A.      Office and building cleaning – Service contract that is focused around office, commercial and building cleaning services.

B.      Lift service and maintenance – Service contract for lift service and maintenance.

C.      Food – Service contract that is focused around catering services.

D.      General waste services contracts – The organisation’s primary general waste service contract.

E.      Laundry services - where clothes and linen can be washed and ironed. 

  1. Contract profile questionnaire for each type of contract:

  3. Total Annual Spend – The spend should only relate to each of the service contracts listed above.

  4. A description of the services provided under this contract please includes information if other services are included under the same contract.

  5. The number of sites the contract covers

  6. [ONLY FOR LIFT CONTRACT] The Brand name of the type of lifts used by the organisation

  7. The start date of the contract

  8. The end date of the contract

  9. The duration of the contract, please include information on any extensions period.

  10. Who within the organisation is responsible for each of these contracts? name, Job Title, contact number and email address.

I think the following will answer questions 2, 3, 4, 7, 8 & 9 for all contracts;

This information is publicly available – it used to be on www.blpd.gov.uk (site no longer there) but that public contract database view has been replaced by a new system from In-Tend – current link to the public contract register can be found at:

You can then search and filter.  If you only wish to see contracts for Cheshire Fire Authority then you can use the drop down/filter. 

That will present a list related to your search criteria.  You can either chose to view the summary details (which includes contract documents/attachments)  of an individual contract by selecting that; or if you wish to see the full contract record you need to use the “export” function. 

You may find it easier once you have identified the contract title from a list of those presented from your initial search – to re-search just using the contract title – then when you export you only get the 1 contract.

The CFA Laundry contract is for PPE; Laundry, Repair & Maintenance. This is not site specific.

The CFA Lift Contract covers approximately 4 sites.

The CFA General Waste Contract covers 30 sites.
